Kyle Paoletti - Drums, Percussion, Piano
Kyle Paoletti is a multi-award winning percussionist and music educator who has toured, performed, and hosted clinics across the country. Currently wrapping up his Bachelors in Percussion Performance and Music Education at Oakland University, Kyle plans to continue on to a masters in percussion performance or Melodic Timpani.
Kyle is a distinguished performer of all percussion instruments. He began percussion at the age of 9 on drumset, quickly expanding into a variety of western and African percussion. Among multiple performance awards, he was recently awarded Best Percussion at the North American brass Band Association (NABBA) in Alabama, and in 2022, Kyle was selected as an OSO concerto winner where he gave the United States Premiere of a timpani concerto. Kyle has also performed at Percussive Arts Society International Convention and led a percussion septet on a country-wide tour to compete, perform, and give clinics.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, Kyle works with students through active and engaging learning by making the learning accessible/inclusive, connecting prior knowledge to deeper engage students, and being musically active through games, songs, and fun! Kyle has worked throughout the community giving educational clinic performances at multiple schools, Rochester Public Library, and the Pontiac Musicale. He has also worked with multiple community ensembles such as the Dearborn Youth Symphony, the Oakland Youth Orchestra, and the Motor City Academy Brass Band. He has led multiple percussion groups to winning spots in competitions and MSBOA and is also a drumline tech, currently working with Rochester Adams as the drumline instructor.
Outside of teaching, Kyle serves as the President of the Oakland University Percussion Studio and enjoys spending time with his two kitties Cali and Idée!
